A word from the editor: |
Four years after the release of this series, the desk in my office, cleaned in true Marie Kondo fashion, has yet to become messy again. Since I was the head editor, I naturally took it upon myself to put her lessons into practice, and can honestly say they've done wonders for my life. I feel confident we've made a good book, especially since we've received positive reviews from readers practically every day. We've also received numerous requests for an illustrated version of the book, which we are now pleased to be able to offer. This useful book is a must-have. I hope you like it just as much as you did the earlier version.

About the author:Marie Kondo |
|
Marie Kondo is a cleaning consultant whose profession is turning dirty rooms into spaces as pristine as hotel suites. In her private lessons, she's successfully assisted over 1,000,000 students. She acquired a love for cleaning, cooking and sewing by reading Japanese housekeeping magazines such as ESSE and Orenji-Peji (Orange Page) when she was in kindergarten, which acted as the foundation of her training. Her enthusiasm for studying the art of cleaning became more serious after she read a best-selling book called The Art of Throwing Away when she was in her final year of junior high school. In her second year at university, she started a consulting company and her first website, where she began taking her expertise public. Her presence became known gradually by word-of-mouth, and the quality of her lessons gained a reputation for being so useful that "once you take them, you'll never be messy again." As a result, every student she's had has completed her course and graduated. In 2011, her first book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, became a million-seller, and has gone on to be published in 24 countries. She has enjoyed attention from various international media outlets including a feature in the New York Times. Along with her new illustrated book, the series also includes The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up 2 and Experience the Pulsing Magic of Tidying Up Every Day.
